The South Stokes Sauras will head out on the road to face off against the North Stokes Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, South Stokes needed a bit of extra time to put away Starmount. They had just enough and edged out the Rams 9-8. The Sauras haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Tucker Monday was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Monday was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Duggins was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for South Stokes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-13 otherwise. Samuel Kidd was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, North Stokes made sure to put some runs up on the board against Salem Baptist Christian on Thursday. North Stokes' pitcher stepped up to hand Salem Baptist Christian a 17-0 shutout. Considering North Stokes has won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like South Stokes, North Stokes also got a great game from a two-way player: Evan Woods. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Woods has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Dalton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
North Stokes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem Baptist Christian only posted an OBP of .167.
North Stokes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for South Stokes, their record is now 10-13.
South Stokes came up short against North Stokes in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 5-1. Can the Sauras avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
