Sutter extended the longest winning streak in Butte View this week by beating Wheatland, 55-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Sutter was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, Ryan Reynolds's team triumphed over the Pirates 55-7.
Wheatland's dynamic duo of Jackson Hopking and Jordan Samson proved tough for the Huskies to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hopking threw for 189 yards and one touchdown and Samson had 139 yards receiving. Khalil Collier helped Wheatland's passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.
Cameron Perkins made the biggest impact on defense this week as Neil Stinson's team fell to Sutter. The 6-foot-2 senior racked up one sack.
Mat Sanders was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 124 yards on six carries as the Huskies lost to the Huskies. Teammate Nathan Ahlers added to the ground attack by rushing for 118 yards.
Wheatland's Hopking and Samson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Butte View in both passing and receiving yards. Hopking has thrown for 530 yards this season, while Samson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 13 catches for 300 yards. Ahlers from Sutter leads the league in rushing with 490 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Orland takes on the Huskies. At the moment, the Trojans are in fourth, while Sutter is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Orland takes on the Huskies. Mike Mcdonald's team has allowed 31 points this season, while Sutter has given up 30. The Trojans allowed 0 points last week as they beat Gridley.
The Pirates moved up to 484 from 532 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Wheatland was able to make the jump by beating Wheatland 55-7.
