Palatka (Fla.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 21-10 win over
Menendez (St. Augustine, Fla.).
The Panthers scored seven points in the first quarter. Palatka scored on a
Jeremy Faulk touchdown run.
PHS was up 14-3 at the half after taking the lead on a Faulk touchdown run in the first quarter.
The Panthers saw their 11-point halftime lead fall to four entering the fourth.
Braden Marozzi played well for the Falcons. The junior kicked one field goal.
Palatka's most effective player was Faulk. The senior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Menendez's lone touchdown came on an 8-yard run in the third quarter.
PHS came in allowing an average of 23.7 points per game this season.
The Panthers got revenge for last year's 17-8 loss to MHS with the victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for Palatka, which lost to Ponte Vedra last week, 31-14.
Menendez (2-6) goes up against Ponte Vedra in a 5A District 4 game matchup next week, while Palatka (3-5) locks horns with Matanzas also in a 5A District 4 game.
