The Andrews Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Mullins 47-42. Andrews was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mullins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Andrews still got an impressive performance from Vincent Rhue, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chris Stewart, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mullins to victory, but perhaps none more so than JJ Davis, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Deyon Ford was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Andrews' loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Mullins, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews and Lee Central will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Lee Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. As for Mullins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingstree at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kingstree will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
