Softball Recap: Wendell's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Wendell was riding high fresh off their 19-4 takedown of Bear Lake last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans lost 15-8 to the Gooding Senators on Tuesday. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Sophie Mattix was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jace Olmos, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Wendell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Gooding, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wendell will welcome Salmon at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gooding, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Filer at 4:30 p.m. on the 10th.
