The Windsor Wizards will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Junction Central Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Windsor is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Windsor strolled past Loveland with points to spare, taking the game 28-10.
Mikey Munn had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central never let their opponents score on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-0 win over Skyline. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grand Junction Central.
The team won by holding Skyline to a paltry 246 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Grand Junction Central's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Skyline's QB won't forget Parker Haile anytime soon given Haile sacked him four times.
Windsor's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.3 points per game. As for Grand Junction Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Windsor has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Grand Junction Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 164.8 per game. It's looking like Saturday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Windsor beat Grand Junction Central 21-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
