Capitol earned some more postseason success in their matchup on Friday. They managed a 38-34 victory over Lakeside. The success made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Capitol's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 22 first-half points. Lakeside wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 14 to make it 22-14 heading into the break. The Lions were outperformed in the second half 20-16 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
The win bumped Capitol's record up to 6-5. Lakeside's loss pushes them down to 3-8.
The Lions will take on Kentwood in each of the teams' third playoff game on Friday. The stakes are high as both of those teams are all in, each fighting to extend its postseason success. Lakeside's playoff loss brings an end to their season.
