The Greenwich Cardinals put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Ridgefield 35-0 at home. Considering Greenwich has won four contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ian Kim went supernova for Greenwich, rushing for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Kim was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
Greenwich's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Ridgefield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Greenwich will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Staples at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Staples will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Ridgefield will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Danbury at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Danbury is ranked 68th, while Ridgefield is ranked 73rd).
