The West Clermont Wolves waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Anderson. Given West Clermont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Anderson is ranked 527th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Clermont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Schmidt out in front who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals. Schmidt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Rodriguez, who scored 18 points.
West Clermont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Anderson, they bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road.
West Clermont will challenge Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Anderson, they will be playing at home against Walnut Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut Hills will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
