The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-37 win over South Ripley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jac-Cen-Del also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jac-Cen-Del to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Meyer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Reagan Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why South Ripley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reese Obendorf. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Obendorf is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Samples, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Jac-Cen-Del has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for South Ripley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Jac-Cen-Del will head out on the road to take on Southwestern at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southwestern is on a four-game streak of home wins, Jac-Cen-Del a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. South Ripley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
