Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Hatton Hornets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 43-12 defeat at the hands of Sulligent on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hatton in their matchups with Sulligent: they've now lost five in a row.
Tasean Love threw for 141 yards and a touchdown. Karvieon Black was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards.
Sulligent can attribute much of their success to Aj Lowe, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Lowe is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last eight games he's played. Nate Stiles did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hatton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Sulligent, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Hatton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sulligent will square off against Locust Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Locust Fork is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
