The biggest upset of the week belonged to Middleton, who took down 318th ranked Gibbs, 20-18.
Blake was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in 5A District 8. Earlier in the week, the Yellowjackets triumphed over Lennard 18-0.
Vincent Testaverde and Kevin Newman gave Jesuit a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Testaverde threw for 106 yards and one touchdown, while Newman ran for 115 yards. Leland Saile also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Shavar Manuel made the biggest impact on defense this week as Blake topped the Longhorns. The 6-foot-1 defensive end recorded one fumble and racked up three sacks.
DeAndre James was the best wideout in the league this week as the Yellowjackets beat Lennard. James tallied one reception for 49 yards. Jermaine Kershner helped Blake's passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.
On the ground, the Tigers' Newman has rushed for 826 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brian Barr. The Spoto star has 16 catches for 312 yards.
The top two teams in 5A District 8 will face off this week when first place Robinson takes on second place Lakewood. Last week, Robinson defeated Spoto, while Lakewood bested Jesuit.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Knights take on the Spartans. Robinson's offense has scored 230 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Lakewood has allowed only 26 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cory Moore's team takes on Mike Depue's team. The Spartans have allowed 26 points this season, while the Knights have given up 37. Lakewood allowed 17 points last week as it defeated James Harrell's team.
Robinson extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Spartans, 47-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Knights.
