Ravenna is 7-1 against Crestwood since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Ravenna Ravens will be staying on the road to face off against the Crestwood Red Devils at 11:45 a.m. on February 10th. Ravenna comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Ravenna was beaten by Tallmadge 66-17. While losing is never fun, Ravenna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 689th, while Tallmadge is ranked 179th).
Even though Crestwood has not done well against Southeast recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Crestwood came out on top against Southeast by a score of 44-36.
It was another big night for Hannah Ward, who scored 14 points along with four steals and two blocks. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Livia Martini was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Ravenna dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.8 points per game. As for Crestwood, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Ravenna strolled past Crestwood when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 48-33. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Crestwood's Kelsey Downs, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Ravenna to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
