The Chickasaw Chieftains were the 55-51 winner over the Robertsdale Golden Bears when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Chickasaw's rough 55-33 defeat to Robertsdale on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chickasaw has scored all season.
Chickasaw's loss came despite strong showings from JaVon Mose and JaMarion Osborne. Mose scored seven points along with nine rebounds, while Osborne scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Osborne scored a full 30.3% of Chickasaw's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Robertsdale had a senior duo take command as Gabe Stevens scored 20 points and Tanner Williams scored 17 points. The game was Stevens' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Chickasaw's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Robertsdale, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Chickasaw will head out on the road to face off against St. Luke's Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (St. Luke's Episcopal is ranked 240th, while Chickasaw is ranked 222nd). As for Robertsdale, they will be playing at home against McGill-Toolen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
