Basketball Game Preview: Grace Christian Academy Cougars vs. Fullington Academy Trojans

The Grace Christian Academy Cougars will square off against the Fullington Academy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Back in December of 2024, Grace Christian Academy came up short against North Florida Christian and fell 33-21.

Grace Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Kate Poitevint, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards. Poitevint has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played.

Even though they lost, Grace Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fullington Academy). They greeted the New Year with with a 64-50 victory over St. George's. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on six straight.

Fullington Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Grace Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Grace Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 57-25 defeat at the hands of Fullington Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024.
