The Woodland Christian Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Highlands Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Woodland Christian's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Rio Vista, posting a 54-0 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodland Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Hunt, who threw for 384 yards and four TDs while completing 82.9% of his passes. Hunt is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Elliott Holleman was in the mix as well, providing Woodland Christian with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Highlands, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-6 win over Elite. The Scots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
A big part of Highlands' victory came down to the chemistry between Frank Cady and his top target Caleb Nelson. Cady threw for 249 yards and four TDs on only 12 passes while Nelson picked up 152 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Nelson is now averaging an impressive 115.3 receiving yards per game. Another receiver making a difference was Jonathan Rodriguez, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Highlands didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Walter Lewis and Nelson. Nelson also posted 152 receiving yards, which is notable because Highlands is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-4 otherwise. Nelson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Highlands, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Roshad Burleson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Woodland Christian's record now sits at 7-1. As for Highlands, their record is now 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Woodland Christian against Highlands in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-7 win. In that contest, the Cardinals amassed a halftime lead of 50-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
