Washington is 1-9 against Jefferson since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Patriots will welcome the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Washington 3.9, Jefferson 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Washington will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Loudoun Valley, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Patriots came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

At the plate, Ryan Kelly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Brady, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Jefferson's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Martinsburg by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 22, 2024.
Jefferson also got a good showing from Andrew Engle, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Engle has allowed since back in March.
On the hitting side, Cole Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-3.
Washington might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Jefferson in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
