After flying high against the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions on Monday, the New Richmond Lions came back down to earth. New Richmond fell just short of Reading by a score of 43-40. New Richmond lost against Reading in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-27 score last time.
New Richmond lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sydney Miller, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiera Kirk, who scored nine points along with three blocks.
New Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Reading, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
New Richmond will be playing at home against Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Reading, they will head out on the road to face off against Deer Park at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
