Ball put the hurt on Santa Fe with a sharp 78-52 win on Friday. Given Ball's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Santa Fe is ranked 729th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Santa Fe still got an impressive performance from Aidan Jewell, who scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jewell has scored all season. Kaidan Mata was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Ball's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Santa Fe, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.
Ball will head out on the road to square off against Texas City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Angleton at 7:00 p.m. Angleton is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
