After two games on the road, Hodgeman County is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Spearville Lancers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hodgeman County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Last Friday, Hodgeman County was beaten by Meade 76-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hodgeman County has scored all season.
Hodgeman County's loss came about despite a quality game from Owen Reece, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Reece scored a full 52.2% of Hodgeman County's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazen Rydquist, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Even though they lost, Hodgeman County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even though Sublette scored an imposing 61 points last Saturday, Spearville still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Spearville made off with a 62-61 win over Sublette.
Hodgeman County's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Spearville, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Hodgeman County against Spearville in their previous meeting back in March as the squad secured a 61-24 win. With Hodgeman County ahead 37-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
