New Lothrop has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will square off against the Ovid-Elsie Marauders at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for New Lothrop at home against Hill-McCloy as the team secured a 66-22 win.
Meanwhile, Ovid-Elsie put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Hill-McCloy on the road to the tune of 70-19. That looming 70-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ovid-Elsie yet this season.
Ovid-Elsie can attribute much of their success to Evalyn Cole, who scored 19 points along with five steals, and Ava Bates, who scored 20 points along with eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for Bates. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Tokar, who scored six points along with six assists.
New Lothrop pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ovid-Elsie, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
New Lothrop came up short against Ovid-Elsie in their previous meeting back in January, falling 40-29. Can New Lothrop avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
