The Edisto Cougars will take on the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Edisto's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Whale Branch. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Billy Hardy was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Edisto: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Hardy was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Edisto got a massive performance out of Justin Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases and two runs. Smith is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Turner, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Edisto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Bridges Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Barnwell by a score of 2-1.
Bridges Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Young, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Young has hit this season.
The win got Edisto back to even at 3-3. As for Bridges Prep, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Edisto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. However, it's not like Bridges Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edisto got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Bridges Prep by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
