Jackson Day is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Queen's Grant Stallions at 5:30 p.m. Jackson Day has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Saturday, Jackson Day got the win against Butler by a conclusive 61-40. Fans of the Mariners have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ahylia White, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. White has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Marshall, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Jackson Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Queen's Grant strolled past Oak City Prep with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 65-51.
Queen's Grant's win came from a few key players Jackson Day will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Za'Miya Bynum, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Misa Garris was another key player, going 7-for-9 on her way to 17 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Jackson Day's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Queen's Grant, their record is now 6-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Jackson Day has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32 boards per game. However, it's not like Queen's Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Jackson Day lost to Queen's Grant on the road by a decisive 62-45 margin when the teams last played back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bynum, who shot 55% from beyond the arc en route to 37 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.
