Basketball Recap: Dunbar Drops Season-High Score on Space Coast

Dunbar scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Space Coast Vipers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Crimson Tide came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in District of Columbia, while the Vipers are ranked 246th in Florida).

Space Coast got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JaLayah Anderson out in front who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Layla Mangum, who put up eight points.

Dunbar is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. As for Space Coast, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Dunbar and KIPP DC Legacy College Prep will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Space Coast, they will take on Roosevelt in a tournament on Monday. Roosevelt will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Space Coast surely won't give up without a fight.
