After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Michael's, Pecos was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Thoreau Hawks get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Arlanni Gabaldon was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jaylah Ortiz was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Briel Perea was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Pecos lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pecos' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Thoreau, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Pecos will be playing at home against Raton at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Thoreau, they will be taking part in a tournament against McCurdy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.33 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
