Burroughs is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Glendora is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bears will host the Tartans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Burroughs lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Arcadia, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Bears blew past the Apaches 7-1 on Thursday. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Valentina Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Haven Vickers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Cortez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Burroughs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Glendora never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Walnut with a sharp 16-0 victory.
Glendora also got a great performance from Gianna Messick as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Kiley Coleman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Siena Bobadilla was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Burroughs' win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Glendora, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Burroughs hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Glendora struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
