After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waterloo, Civic Memorial was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Alton Redbirds as they made off with a 16-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Bella Thien was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Zoey Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Civic Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alton only posted an OBP of .259.
