The Fox Creek Predators had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.1 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They managed a 58-54 victory over Pelion. 58 seems to be a good number for Fox Creek as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Connor Cannon, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brelan Baskett, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Pelion had strong showings from Noah Pegues, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds, and Lucas New, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pegues has scored all season. Jayden Fields was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Pelion were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fox Creek only racked up seven assists.
Fox Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Pelion, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Fox Creek will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully Batesburg-Leesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Pelion, they will head out on the road to take on the Rebels at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Strom Thurmond presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in South Carolina (the Rebels are ranked 102nd, while the Panthers are ranked 284th).
