The Ripon Christian Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ripon Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Hilmar likes a good challenge.
Ripon Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Sonora as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Knights have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordan Luisi made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Luisi was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Ripon Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stadtler Postma, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah DeBruyn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hilmar suffered their closest loss since March 19th on Friday. They fell just short of Ripon by a score of 4-2.
Marlin Kindberg was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hilmar saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Ripon Christian pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Hilmar, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.
Ripon Christian couldn't quite get it done against Hilmar when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-4. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
