Legacy has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Erie Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Legacy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 82-36 loss at the hands of Legend. Legacy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.
Despite the defeat, Legacy had strong showings from Meghan Allshouse, who scored 12 points along with six assists, and Olivia Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mortensen is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Erie has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-40 to Horizon on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Erie has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Maddie Hartel, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Ridenour, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Legacy has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Erie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Legacy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Erie, though, as they've been averaging only 25.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
