The Ridgeway Roadrunners will head out on the road to face off against the Memphis East Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Memphis East is ranked 44th).
Last Friday, Ridgeway came up short against Southwind and fell 53-44. Ridgeway has struggled against Southwind recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Memphis East waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Memphis Business Academy 64-46.
Memphis East found their leader in underclassman Ashlee Sinkfield, who scored 22 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sinkfield has scored at least 25% of Memphis East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieren Smith, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Ridgeway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Memphis East, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Ridgeway strolled past Memphis East when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a score of 59-45. Does Ridgeway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Memphis East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
