Brady Flynn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Athens got a massive performance out of Brendan Cooke, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Connor Davidson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Athens hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Canton hadn't done well against Wyalusing Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors walked away with a 10-7 win over the Rams.
Lee Tubach was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Canton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Moore, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Athens' victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Canton, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Everything went Athens' way against Canton in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Athens made off with a 15-7 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
