Frederick was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Lindsay 74-48. The Bombers came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Hinton extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 3 this week by beating Riverside Indian, 47-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Comets.
Frederick's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. TREVOR FLORES threw for 540 and three touchdowns and GRANT HOOVER had 208 yards receiving. On the ground MARCUS IBARRA chipped in 197 yards. JESSIE WEBB helped Frederick's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 141 yards.
Frederick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bombers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. FLORES has thrown for 1845 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while HOOVER has 27 catches for 666 yards. IBARRA leads the league in rushing with 486 yards.
Going into this week's game against Mangum, Hugh Farmer's team's FLORES needs 155 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Washington takes on Hinton. As it stands, the Warriors are in fifth, while Chad Broughton's team is in first.
Washington took down Hobart 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
