3A Region II District 11 recap September 10, 2013
Wilmer-Hutchins's John Carter recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Region II District 11 this season in his game against Kaufman last week. Carter's team fell to the Lions as he sprinted for 81 yards on the play and finished with 87 in all.
Ferris moved up to 314 from 363 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Yellowjackets were able to make move up by besting Kemp 56-0.
Wilmer-Hutchins' dynamic duo of Wilton Maxwell and Leamon Hicks proved tough for Kaufman to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Maxwell threw for 117 yards and Hicks had 48 yards receiving.
Elzie Barnett's team's dynamic duo of Maxwell and Hicks proved to be unstoppable against Todd York's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Maxwell put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles lost to the Lions.
Jay Foster was a force in the backfield as Ferris defeated the Yellowjackets.
Hicks was the best wideout in the league this week as Wilmer-Hutchins lost to Kaufman.
Foster was a passing and rushing force as Aaron Emeyabbi's team beat Kemp.
Foster was the most successful running back in 3A Region II District 11 this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 239 yards as the Yellowjackets fell to the Lions. DJ Wilson also contributed to the rushing game with 139 yards on the ground.
Wilmer-Hutchins' 6-foot-3 quarterback Maxwell is the league leader in passing yards this season with 145. The leading receiver in the league this season is Darius Rouwtt. The Ferris star has 4 catches for 87 yards.
Ferris took down the Yellowjackets 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Foster in the win.
