The San Ysidro Cougars will challenge the Lincoln Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Ysidro knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, San Ysidro made easy work of Chula Vista Learning Community Charter and carried off an 18-2 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ximena Ulloa was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Zuniga, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
San Ysidro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 16 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lincoln came up short against Liberty Charter on Tuesday, falling 15-6. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.
Nyema Curtis was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brissa Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Having lost for the first time this season, Lincoln fell to 3-1. As for San Ysidro, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Ysidro has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
San Ysidro might still be hurting after the 21-13 defeat they got from Lincoln in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
