Basketball Recap: Chandler Prep Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chandler Prep). They secured a 54-50 W over the Arete Prep CHARGERS on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their 12-game losing streak.

Arete Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Harrison Kremer and Crew Oetjen. Kremer posted 25 points and four steals, while Oetjen dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Oetjen is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tolu Jolaogun, who earned five points.

Chandler Prep's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-16. As for Arete Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Chandler Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trivium Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arete Prep, they will welcome North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Phoenix Preparatory Academy has three straight victories, Arete Prep has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
