There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Can't Touch This
Woodbridge got a 49 - 20 win over Cambridge-South Dorchester last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jamon Kane. Kane rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed Kane among the top power-ranked players for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between DuPont and Polytech last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 70 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. DuPont put the hurt on Polytech with a conclusive 56 - 14 victory. As a result, DuPont rose one spot in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between William Penn (9th in the power rankings) and Middletown (1st). William Penn will be sulking in after a defeat while Middletown will strut in boosted by a win. We'll see if Middletown can add another positive mark to its record or if William Penn can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Middletown's step.
