They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkview Christian 61-11 at home. Elmwood-Murdock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 26 points or more this season.
Leading Elmwood-Murdock to victory were Annie Backemeyer and Tatum Backemeyer. Backemeyer scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Backemeyer scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Backemeyer has scored all season. Brooklyn Mans was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Parkview Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Elmwood-Murdock pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
Elmwood-Murdock's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.21 points. As for Parkview Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Elmwood-Murdock will be playing in front of their home fans against Lourdes Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lourdes Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Elmwood-Murdock is ranked 24th). Parkview Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lincoln Lutheran on January 30th.
