After flying high against the Anzar Hawks last Friday, the Kirby Prep Griffins came back down to earth. Kirby Prep was beaten by Pacific Collegiate 66-26 on Friday. Kirby Prep has struggled against Pacific Collegiate recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kirby Prep saw an underclassman step up: Chris Lively scored 15 points. Rain Li was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Kirby Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Pacific Collegiate, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirby Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harbor at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Harbor is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Pacific Collegiate's road trip will continue as they head out to face York at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. York is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
