Even though the Grape Creek Eagles have not done well against the Sterling City Eagles recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grape Creek snuck past Sterling City with a 31-25 victory. That's two games straight that Grape Creek has won by exactly six points.
Grape Creek found their leader in underclassman kassidy mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 steals. Mitchell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerzey jones, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Grape Creek's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Sterling City, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Grape Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Anson at 3:00 p.m. on November 30th. As for Sterling City, they will face off against Early at 9:14 a.m. on Friday.
