Softball Recap: Forsyth Home Educators Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Forsyth Home Educators, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Lee Park Prep Knights on Tuesday as Forsyth Home Educators made off with a 15-8 victory. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Rebecca Cheek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ella Beaver was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Isabelle Welborn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Forsyth Home Educators' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Lee Park Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Forsyth Home Educators will be playing in front of their home fans against Union Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union Grove Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Forsyth Home Educators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lee Park Prep, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-4 victory against Gaston Christian on the 27th.
