Captain Shreve is 10-0 against the Buccaneers since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Captain Shreve Gators will be playing at home against the Haughton Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Captain Shreve is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Buccaneers in Louisiana (the Gators are ranked 78th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 201st).
Last Friday, Captain Shreve earned a 60-47 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Captain Shreve.
Captain Shreve got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Guinn out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Guinn continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jyrin Sowell, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Haughton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a hard 56-39 fall against Southwood.
Captain Shreve is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Haughton, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Captain Shreve against the Buccaneers when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 61-32 win. Will Captain Shreve repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
