Whitesboro and Pilot Point are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. Whitesboro is taking a road trip to square off against Pilot Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pilot Point took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Whitesboro, who comes in off a win.
Whitesboro took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They really took it to A Plus Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-6 win. That 72 point margin sets a new team best for the Bearcats this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitesboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colt Fagan, who threw for 75 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 46 yards and one score. That's the most passing touchdowns Fagan has posted since back in August. Rip Harper was another key player, rushing for 64 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Whitesboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Whitesboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shayne Gabbert and Ian Bruce.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Point duked it out with Pottsboro on Thursday. The Bearcats lost 35-14 to the Cardinals. The Bearcats have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Although Pilot Point took the loss, they still got scores from Hunter Newman and Caden David.
Whitesboro is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games. As for Pilot Point, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Whitesboro has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 213.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pilot Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 259 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Whitesboro strolled past Pilot Point in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 37-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitesboro since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
