The King's Academy Knights will be playing at home against the Faustina Academy Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
King's Academy had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Tyler HEAT on the road to the tune of 48-0. The win was just what King's Academy needed coming off of a 60-12 loss in their prior match.
Sam Tarrant was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Colt Corbin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
King's Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Garrett Trant.
Meanwhile, Faustina Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 61-55 to Victory Christian Academy. Faustina Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Faustina Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Damian Sipe, who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ben Nelson , who threw for 201 yards and four touchdowns.
King's Academy's victory lifted them to 3-5 while Faustina Academy's defeat dropped them down to 7-1.
King's Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Faustina Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2020, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. Will King's Academy repeat their success, or does Faustina Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
