Mullen was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They came up short against  the Cherokee Trail Cougars, falling  3-0.  While Mullen ultimately came up short, they really made  Cherokee Trail work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 26-24,  25-23.
Mullen's offense was headlined by  Dominick Ramirez and  Ben Rogers, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from  Razi Daugherty and his 19 assists. Ramirez was also solid from the service line:  he led the team with two aces.
Mullen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Cherokee Trail, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record  this season.
