Furr is 0-10 against Wheatley since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Furr Brahmans will be playing at home against the Wheatley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Furr comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-14, which was the final score in Furr's tilt against Worthing back in December of 2023.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wheatley gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 79-29 win over North Forest. The win was some much needed relief for Wheatley as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheatley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jahannah Roberson, who scored 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Roberson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jamie Solomon was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Furr's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Wheatley, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Furr was taken down by Wheatley 86-15 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Furr was down 35-9.
