The Rock Hill Redmen will head out on the road to take on the Peebles Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Peebles took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rock Hill, who comes in off a win.
Rock Hill has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 44-21 victory on Monday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Rock Hill just coasted through the last quarter.
Peebles has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lynchburg-Clay on Thursday. The match was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but Peebles couldn't quite close it out.
Peebles might have lost, but man, Payton Johnson was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Johnson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Smalley, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Rock Hill's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Peebles, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.
