Legend has gone 8-1 against Highlands Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 4:15 p.m. This will be Legend's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Legend took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Castle View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sabercats on Friday, sneaking past 8-6.
Jacob Osborne looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Silas Meuli, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Brush, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Legend was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highlands Ranch). They came out on top against Conifer by a score of 11-6 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Garrett Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Highlands Ranch is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jackson Tuttle tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
Back at the plate, Highlands Ranch let Cody Dane and Zach Benner run wild. Dane scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Benner scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Benner is becoming a predictor of Highlands Ranch's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ayden Wells, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Highlands Ranch's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Legend, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Everything went Legend's way against Highlands Ranch in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Legend made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
