After having lost a blowout to Coleville in their previous game, Excel Christian was happy to find some success on Saturday. Excel Christian captured a comfortable 24-9 win over Sierra Lutheran. That result is just more of the same for Excel Christian, who also won the last time these teams played.
Senior Jeshua Fixel, who rushed for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. In fact, with 17 tackles Fixel was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Jesus Chavez, who racked up 10 tackles. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Excel Christian will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Owyhee at 1:00 PM. As for Sierra Lutheran, they will face off against Mineral County.
