The North Community Polars can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Roosevelt 89-46 at home. While fans of North Community might be used to big wins, the 43-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Roosevelt's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Wells, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Wells hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Calvin Peterson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
North Community pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.7 points per game. As for Roosevelt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
North Community will square off against Minneapolis South at TBD on Wednesday. One thing working in Minneapolis South's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Roosevelt, they will be playing at home against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Monday.
